Wednesday Open Mic Sellwood Yukon Tavern 5819 Se Milwaukie Ave details visit 01/11/2012 The historic Yukon Tavern is a unique place with its red velvet walls adorned with tasteful nude paintings of Vivian and her sis in their younger years (former owner, musician, lovely spirit), pictures of golden years, nick nacks, bear and dear etc. Fam
ous and not-yet famous musicians have walked its red carpet and played its antique red lamp lit stage...........Eric keeps the bar groovin with his keen memory for people and their drinks and quippy dry sense of humor (if you are a comedian, Eric is your challenge...he rarely cracks a smile),,, and the stage and sound system are set up for YOU..............LAST WEEKS SHOW was incredible. New (to the Yukon) musicians keep trickling in (this week with thanks to Anne Dang) and it keeps things interesting. Eva (with the voice of a Kenya raised ANGEL sang some beautiful songs (Eva Cassidy and others). L.J. Playah put on her twist and was downright funky (in a good way). Aaron lent some insight into John Lennon's personality and how to leave your lover (Paul Simon) and other insightful tidbits. He also played his originals (damn good if you ask me). Lee Lee played some new tunes adding to her already best coversongs ever (Neil Young, Beatles, Sam Cooke, etc) Anne Dang brought some of the greatest musicians that moved from the stage into the lounge for a more private and intimate setting. It was "All Good" and it is so cool that we all have the freedom, space and environment of the YUKON to make each show so personal and meaningful. Looking forward to this WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11th show from 9p.m.-1a.m. .... The Yukon awaits your discovery! .Sincerely, Baglady
